The lovely team from Next invited me to preview their upcoming collection for Christmas. I am a huge fan of everything to do with Next and I've found their collections to get better and better each time, so excitement was rising as I got off the train and headed for Victoria House.
As you may or may not be aware I'm in the process of moving. Boxes are everywhere, items are hidden and my clothes? God knows! I was in a major rush as I frantically road my bike to the train station, so I threw on the the best two items I could find. I'd actually teamed this quite well but I also felt it didn't flatter my shape as much as I'd of liked it to, ideally I needed a waist belt and you know when you're having one of those nothing looks good on me days? This was definitely one of those!

Of course I got lost whilst trying to find the venue and was almost late, but luckily Sophie had saved me a seat. Dashing in two seconds before it started I was ready to see the up and coming trends. Next always go to town with their press days from the clothes to the decorations, so in the room next to the main catwalk was all decked out with a festive vibe and tables were covered in candles. The room was packed out with eager eyes all over the garments on display. Seeing lots of rich colours and warm fabrics. It did feel slightly surreal looking at winter clothing when it was roasting outside, but I really started to wish it was the weather to wear it!
Of course eyes were stuck to the catwalk when model Jourdan Dunn strutted along, and my goodness she's even prettier and more elegant in person.
The main items that stood out to me were the luxurious dresses and gorgeous big winter coats. I kept seeing lots of lace and one dress that immediately stood was a rich red lace with a slim red belt, providing an enviable waistline and giving it the wow factor.
Rich colours
Luxury fabrics
Vintage inspired
Metallic jacquard shorts
Lace combined with velvet
Simple dresses with hints of lace
You may have seen on twitter me squeaking about this stunning dress I saw at the Next show? Well if not you're about to see it below. Initially I saw it in the black but then the light color emerged and I fell in love! This is in Next's more luxury end of it's range, with it's chiffon skirt and detailed corset top. It would be perfect for Christmas parties or even winter weddings.
After the runway show we were able to go and preview some of the items we had seen on the catwalk. I was so happy to see waiters giving out fresh juice and canapes as I was starving, the best part was they had porridge and little bacon butties... This totally made up for the fact I'd got up so early and missed breakfast!
I love Next events as they are a great way to catch up with fellow blogging friends, I got to see Sophie, Jen, Claire and Kylie, but also sit and enjoy a delicious coffee... you could even get your nails and eyebrows done!
Thank you as always to the lovely team at Next, they always put on such a great show and a big thank you for the wonderful goody bag!
Roll on Christmas because if what I saw from Next is anything to go by, we're all going to be very happy when shopping on the high street!
xoxo
