Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) will be returning to theater in Race penned by playwright David Mamet. The Center Theatre group announced the casting earlier this week. Race will open at the Kirk Douglas Theatre on September 7th 2014 with previews beginning on August 31, 2014.
The role Bauer will be playing on stage has not been given. But per the play’s webpage, Mamet’s Race centers around a case involving the sexual assault of a black woman by a wealthy white executive:
“Multiple award-winning playwright/director David Mamet tackles America’s most controversial topic in a provocative new tale of sex, guilt and bold accusations. Two lawyers find themselves defending a wealthy white executive charged with sexually assaulting a black woman. When a new legal assistant gets involved in the case, the opinions that boil beneath explode to the surface.”
