When I’m baking, I always have sticky fingers. As I bake, grabbing ingredients and measuring and mixing and whatnot, I always end up with splatters of flour on my face and fingers covered in cake batter. And…then I grab my phone, looking at the recipe I had written up, and see a little batter seep into the little crack in the corner, and puffs of flour covering the screen. Not ideal.
Best thing though? No longer a problem. The kind people over at Lenovo let me try YOGA Tablet 2 Pro and let me tell you – my baking situation is now WAY more ideal. Now when I’m in the kitchen, I don’t need to grab for my phone for the recipe, because I have it displayed on the tablet. I can blast my music waaay louder than my phone went, and I can stand it up (on the build in stand) wherever I want, so I can look at the recipe or change the music without even having to pick it up.
The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro tablet is a little bit bigger than most tablets I’ve played with before, which makes it perfect for what I use it for. In the above pic, you see a little bit of my set up! I display my prewritten recipe on my tablet, and prop it up right around my stand mixer. Because of my tendency to forget to charge things, I also adore that the battery also lasts foreveeeeeer (actually about 15 hours in-use time).
Drum roll please, for the coolest feature ever: this tablet has a projector! Built into it! Like a real, live, projector where you can project whatever you’re looking at onto the closest wall. Needless to say, my friends and I have had a great deal of fun playing with that feature. After I received the tablet in the mail, we sat on my bed for a long time in the dark, watching Britney Spears music videos projected onto my ceiling. It was definitely time well spent.
Also, being a college student, I love being able to bring this to class. It’s way more lightweight than my laptop, and it being able to stand up is invaluable when I’m reading off of it and writing in my notebook at the same time. I can also imagine it being awesome to whip out the projector feature to do a PowerPoint presentation in class. Waiting for the day.
As you can see in the photo above…this is behind the scenes of Bakerita! Yes, all of my photos are shot on that little wooden side table thing. Every single photo on this site. I use a chair to hold up my light reflector. And now, I use my YOGA Tablet Pro 2 to play my favorite songs and hold up said light reflector. Perfect set up!
The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro was also by my side while I made blueberry bagels, and it was so convenient to have the directions literally in front of my face.
Now…I know you noticed the chocolate chip cookies up there. I noticed the other day that I hadn’t updated my chocolate chip cookie recipe since 2011. That is way too long ago. The pictures were not great, to say the least, though I did have some semi-decent process photos that stayed up!
The recipe has stayed the same through all these years, and these are still totally my favorite chocolate chip cookies. They use three types of sugar, and chocolate chunks, and are sprinkled with sea salt. They’re seriously magical, and now they have shiny new photographs of them looking their best.
