It doesn’t get any easier than this. If you have been looking for your way to take action all month long against Childhood Cancer, then look no more. Because you’ve gotta eat, right? Of course you do. So why not have someone else cook for you and help out a great cause in the process. It’s a win win.
My family and I will be at Chili’s tonight. I will color a pepper even though I can’t stand coloring. Yes, you heard it, this once upon a time early childhood education major hates to color. I’ll do it. My kids are going to color their peppers.
My 14 year old will be coloring a pepper for internet sensation/Cover Girl Talia Castellano who lost her battle to Cancer just this year a month before her 14th birthday.
Talia Castellano August 18, 1999 – July 16, 2013
The rest of us will be coloring our peppers for a little girl named Kennedy who fought and won her battle with Cancer 6 years ago. She has been in remission for a year now and we couldn’t be more happy for her and her family. But there’s always the worry that it could come back. And let us not forget the damage that the Chemo does to ones body. It’s hard to say what the long term effects will be to Kennedy as she gets older. But she is a beautiful 9 year old little girl who’s here thanks to advancements in medication which were able to save her. None of which would have been possible without people donating money to this cause.
Kennedy, diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in 2007.
So get out there and eat at Chili’s tonight. And if you feel so moved color a pepper for a child with Cancer and make an extra donation. Lets save more children from Cancer!
Don’t forget, I’m still trying to raise $5000 for St. Baldrick’s and will shave my head in a month and a half if I reach my goal. Help me get there. You’ll get to see my goofy mug with no hair and the money goes right towards children’s Cancer research. It’s all tax deductible to boot. So pass it on. Get people to eat at Chili’s today and donate to St. Baldrick’s.
If you do go to Chili’s please take lots of pictures and share them on my Facebook wall, or link me to a blog post. I’d love to come by and say thanks.
