Chili Hot Chocolate

chili hot chocolate recipe, style of sam

I made this on Christmas Eve to give away for friends and family, but it would be enjoyable any time of the year if you’re a chocolate fiend like me and Mr. S.  It’s super easy!  I made it with the little guy attached on the Baby Bjorn, BUT I did make Mr. S add the chili powder to be safe.

{Adapted from this Martha Stewart recipe}

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups of dutch chocolate
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder

Mix all ingredients and viola!  You’ve got some spicy hot chocolate mix ready to go.  Add 2 tablespoons to your favorite mug of warmed milk, and you’re on your way to chocolate heaven!

P.S.  I doubled the recipe and it packaged nicely into a dozen 8oz mason jars.  {I liked the quilting detail of them.}  These Martha Stewart labels were perfect, and I finished it off with some holiday ribbon!

P.P.S.  This was supposed to be posted BEFORE Christmas.  But since none of it was done until 11pm the night before Christmas, it didn’t happen!
