Chicago Man Arrested on Gun Charges

Posted on the 04 June 2012 by Mikeb302000
The Chicago Tribune reports Guns are sometimes recovered during traffic stops but officers got a surprise this week when the “gunman” was a 3-year-old girl in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. When confronted by police the girl dropped the weapon safely and wasn't harmed, but an adult in the car was arrested. Queshawn King, 19, was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon for having a loaded weapon inside the vehicle, misdemeanor endangering the life and health of a child, and misdemeanor possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card, police said. Well they sure threw the book at this guy? What could account for the incredible disparity in charging between this case and some of the others we look at? How often do we see no charges when kids shoot each other with daddy's gun and end up dead? Yet, in this case with no one injured they seem to be taking it so seriously.
