It's that time again... CHIC AT EVERY AGE . This week, we're showing you how to wear sequins FOR DAYTIME... or as Ken Downing calls them - Starbucks Sequins! LOL!
For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds... a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I'm working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

Ken Downing coined the phrase "Starbucks Sequins", and I LOVE it! Basically, I think Ken is a fashion genius so his thoughts of style are kind of like Oprah to me! Anyhow, we thought it would be so fun to style this sequin camo jacket and show how easy it is to wear sequins during the day!
Camo AND sequins?! Could there be a better combination?! Even though this is a sequin jacket, the actual sequins are a clear color sewn over the camouflage print which make it more subtle. LOL at SUBTLE for sequins! When you're wearing sequins during the DAY, why not GO BIG (and shine)?!
THE STYLE Rx: Sparkle and shine during the day with sequins! Tis the season to try something fun!
Here are a few easy ways to wear sequins:
- A sequin jacket is an easy way to replace your blazer over a jeans and tee! Or wear it like I did with a midi dress.
- Pair a sequin skirt with a casual top (think oversized sweater, white tee, or chambray shirt) for a fun dressy casual look.
- Tuxedo (sequin) jeans will elevate any "regular jeans" outfit. I spotted a fabulous pair of Levi's at Nordstrom the other day.
- Wear a sequin top as a base with jeans and a vest/moto jacket for some unexpected daytime sparkle.
- Add some sparkle in your step with sequiny shoes! I got these pair of strappy sandals and will be wearing it for holiday parties as well as with ripped jeans, a tee, and a moto jacket for some daytime fun!
Now, we all love a good LBD (little black dress) and this one from Reformation is fabulous! I was on the hunt for a good LBD to replace one that had lost it's elasticity. I saw the sweetheart neckline and midi length and was sold! Plus, I'm happy that the dress that is bra friendly even though it has shoulder straps. I've worn it multiple times with a fuzzy coat and booties already. NOTE: It is very body hugging! I'm wearing size SMALL for reference.
A good pair of black booties will work for anything from jeans to a dress! I got these Marc Fisher booties during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, and I continue to love the quality of this brand. I just got a pair of white booties too.

Cathy looks SO CHIC in her green satin top, skinny jeans, and moto boots! I LOVE it! Heather always has the coolest jeans, and she wore them with a black top and studded heels. I went with my "uniform" as of late with a black midi dress and booties. Natalie went for an all-black look to really let the sequins stand out!

Happy Friday Friends! This has been an interesting week getting back to school. My little ones keep waking up and yesterday my oldest was ill and had to go to the doctor. I'm probably delirious from sleep deprivation, but I am trying my best to get some things done for a baby shower that I'm hosting tomorrow for my SIL! Just have to finish decorating - partial Christmas decor is up! LOL! And I need to get more baby shower decor! What are you up to this weekend?
