Some think of tweed and immediately think "old person". I think of tweed, and my mind goes to Chanel! This tweed jacket is a fabulous Chanel dupe for less than $150 - I'll take it! And on that note, we should talk about how to wear a tweed jacket whether it's from the coveted fashion house, a vintage hand-me-down, or this Cupcakes and Cashmere jacket!
I feel like you can go two ways with a tweed jacket - classy or edgy.
HOW TO WEAR A TWEED JACKET - EDGY
I distinctly remember seeing a picture in a magazine of this French girl with a Chanel jacket, white t-shirt, and ripped jeans. She was the epitome of cool, and that was the moment I wanted a Chanel jacket. She wore it so effortlessly and edgy!
So how do you do that with a tweed jacket?
- Wear it with distressed jeans. Just take a look at Heather and Natalie, and you'll understand how to wear a tweed jacket in an edgy way. I've also worn it that way in THIS POST (and share a bit of a spending problem too).
- Add some leather (or vegan leather)! Bust out your leather pants and heels or a leather skirt and booties for an ultimate "bad girl" in a good way look.
HOW TO WEAR A TWEED JACKET - CLASSIC
This is how many people think of tweed jackets, but it's so classy right? I went for a classy and classic look by wearing a black midi dress (last seen here), layers and layers of pearl necklaces (More is MORE right?), and cap-toe heels. As the gals said, I went all out Chanel! LOL!
THE STYLE Rx: (aka Lazy Girl Glam Tip) Throwing a jacket over a black dress and black heels is an easy way to look chic and pulled together with minimal effort. There's no matching required with a dress, and the jacket is the hero!
It's pretty easy to wear a tweed jacket in a more classic way!
- Wear it with anything that you can wear to work. Think blouses, cami, slacks, skirts, and dresses. All of those pieces would be easy and appropriate with a tweed jacket. That's EASY right? Below are some specific examples:
- Pair a tweed jacket with a lace camisole and wide-leg slacks.
- Get a matching tweed skirt to make a suit set.
- Get a pair of good denim. Cathy looks fabulous and classy in the tweed jacket with jeans because her jeans aren't distressed. That's the secret to wearing it with jeans but keeping a classic look. I wore a tweed jacket with denim for an adoption interview in THIS POST!
HOW WE WORE IT
Cathy accented the tweed with a gold lace and velvet camisole, black jeans, and loafers. She looks so classy. Heather always has the best jeans and stayed chic in a black top. I went for a ladylike look with cap toe heels, layers of pearls, and a black midi dress. Natalie looks so cool in her ripped jeans, and I love the pop of red with her boots! So fun!

Happy Friday Y'all! I just got back into town yesterday from that Milk and Honey Spa Retreat (seen on Instagram/ Facebook stories) while Mr. S was on his way out of town! We were ships passing in the night! Anyhow, I've got to entertain my little monkeys SOLO this weekend! Plus, I forgot to tell y'all that Franklin has an eye ulcer so we've been doing eyes drops for a while. The follow up is on Monday (when school is out) so wish me luck at the veterinarian appointment! EEK! I will have to bring out some massive distractions (aka electronic babysitting) like an iPad or something so they don't go hog wild at the appt! Let me know if you have any tips!
