It's that time again... CHIC AT EVERY AGE . This week, we're styling DENIM CUTOFF SHORTS!
For those of you that have just tuned in, this fab collab is exactly how it sounds... a chic chick in her 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s shows you how to style a piece in their own way. I'm working with some of my FAVORITE gals in Dallas!!

This post should have been so easy! Denim cutoffs are my UNIFORM during Summer, and I wear them ALL THE TIME! However, this is where it gets tricky. I look really casual... I mean REALLY CASUAL when I wear them (usually with a tank or graphic tee)... as in Mr. S thinks I look like a homeless person because of my very distressed cutoff shorts that belonged to my father ( seen in this post). Mr. S teases me and says, "You should blog about THIS outfit!" and he's not trying to compliment me. SO, I went a different route and dressed up the denim cutoff shorts.
THE STYLE Rx: Denim shorts are a definite wardrobe staple for Summer. They are easy to wear and perfect for hanging with friends or relaxing by the pool.
I have to say that it was FUN to be all glammed up in shorts! I took two silk scarves and tied them together to make a scarf top! Looking at my outfit, I've got a Grecian vibe going on with the one shoulder top and snake wrap sandals! LOL! BTW, I am absolutely OBSESSED with those HOMINI Gear earrings from my friend's place, Byrd + Bleeker.
So here's how I tied the top:
- Lay both scarves down with the insides of the scarf facing each other.
- Tie one corner together - that will be the top part.
- Place the know over your shoulders with one scarf in front (orange) and one in back (blue). The squares will be kind of at a diagonal.
- Tie the front scarf (orange) corners in the back.
- Tie the back scarf (blue) corners in the front. You can play with where you tie it to change the look of the top! VOILA!
Of course, I LOVED what the other gals wore too! Cathy looks casually chic with that dolman sleeved striped top and gold flatform sandals. I also love her tassel earrings. Heather looks edgy chic as ever with that swim cover up worn as a top. (See how we all wore it here!) She is a genius! Her shorts... I ended up getting them too! They literally are the best pair of denim cutoff shorts, and I am a cheapie when it comes to those! Natalie looks cute as ever in her Vacation Mode tee, bandana, and clam shell bag!

Happy Fridays Loves! I'm so excited because my little brother will be in town this weekend. He is moving up to the DFW area in September for work, and I'm trying to convince him to live near big sister! ;) Anyways, I want Mr. S to take him out with the guys so he can see how cool Fort Worth is right now. He went to medical school here and there really wasn't much around at that time.
