Having been to the Hotel, watched the film and read some background information on the matter, I thought I'd have more to say. But no. Its kind of like watching simultaneous projections of Big Brother. Things are happening that amount to nothing, twice over. And it's not the type of nothing that in the end amounts to something. It is what you see, people doing drugs and having incomprehensible conversations—some we hear and some we don't—boys fondling around in a bed, smoking and staring blankly at the camera. Let's just say, it didn't capture my interest in the way that all the other nothingness in the world captures me.
As Brigid holds court while dealing amphetamines through the phone and performing her best 'talkie,' Nico is the true stand out. She's seriously mesmerizing as she incessantly trims her bangs, drinks water or just sits there doing her best to act out a Warhol portrait.
It should've been called Chelsea Boys though.
