Cheetah: 35th Anniversary- Made The Same Year We Shrunk The Kids, Does This Hold Up?

Quick Take: One of my favorite film YouTube channels, Breakfast All Day, occasionally revisits older movies, and does “Was it great, or were you 8?” I was not 8. Not yet. But this was definitely not great. Cheetah, which has this odd history of being adapted from another work, and essentially whitewashing it, did not hold up. It doesn’t even feel like it is in the same year as some of the other Disney titles. I already revisited Honey I Shrunk The Kids, also from 1989, and that film feels more current than this. Cheetah was boring, and it made me wonder how I was entertained to begin with. I know I’ve seen it. I remember it vaguely from my childhood, but now revisiting it, I’m questioning if I actually liked it. Some movies, I remember from watching over and over. That is not this. It does, however, have audio description on Disney Plus. If you would like a movie about some Los Angeles teens relocated to Africa who try and involve themselves in the rescuing of a Cheetah. This story is also close to the newer film Duma, which came out in the mid 2000’s. You could also just watch that. For more, check out my video.
