It’s amazing to make things in Minecraft, but how amazing would it be to be able to take those creations out of your screen and keep them in your room? That’s exactly what Dave Russell has done, and look at the results. They’re incredible!
Dave used a program called Mineways to make his models. It turns your in-game Minecraft designs into data that a 3D printer can understand. The printer can then print your models using special plastic, and they come out fully-formed. All these models are exact replicas of worlds that Dave built in the Minecraft game. Now he doesn’t have to play Minecraft to visit his worlds, he can just look at them on his shelf. Amazing!
If you live around Cambridge, Massachusetts in the USA, you can check out these amazing models for real at the Science Festival, on Saturday 19th April 2014.
