Charlie Says: Wrap Up Warm

Over the past month we’ve been discussing cold remedies and the London Walks guides have been sharing their various potions and superstitions.
Now let’s get a royal perspective on things:
Wrap up warm.
This simple advice comes to us from King Charles I who went out for a London Walk one January morning in 1649. From St James’s Palace to the Banqueting House he walked. And wrapped up warm he most certainly was.
The King said, "The season is so sharp as probably may make me shake, which some observers may imagine proceeds from fear. I would have no such imputation."
His destination was, of course, his execution.
Rex is doing a walk on Sunday 27th January to commemorate the events.
The walk will follow the traditional anniversary procession from St James, along the Mall to the Banqueting House and see the pikemen, the costumes, the soldiers and hear the whole story of how, why, when and where we executed a king. 
The procession only takes place once a year and is one of London’s most eccentric – and lesser known – parades. This is the only chance this year to join this London Walk.
