Charlaine Harris, the author of the books that inspired our favorite show, True Blood will be one of the guests in attendance at the twenty-fifth Polaris convention this July 15-17.
Harris’ presence at the twenty-fifth anniversary of Polaris is of special note, as this will be the first time she has attended a convention in Canada. She will be involved in a variety of activities at Polaris such as a question and answer stage appearance and a book-signing, so eager “blood”-deprived Canadian fans should register early to guarantee they get the chance to meet this popular and talented writer.
The 11th novel in her exceptionally popular Southern Vampire Mysteries series, Dead Reckoning is due to arrive in May 2011 (her first novel, Dead Until Dark, was released in 2001). “True Blood” is a stunning HBO adaptation that stars the gifted Anna Paquin and has won multiple awards including an Emmy.
Polaris’ roots began as a Star Trek convention in 1986 and it has grown to focus on a variety of sci-fi and fantasy novels, television shows and movies, as well as various related genres such as horror, comics, and more.
Generosity also plays a large role at Polaris, as the not-for-profit convention raises funds every year for various causes including the Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto charity.
Polaris 25 will be held July 15-17 at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel. For more information, visit http://polaris.tcon.ca, or phone 416-410-TCON.
