Charlaine Harris Says Syfy’s “Grave Sight” Adapation Still ‘Theoretical’

Grave SightIf you are a fan of Charlaine HarrisHarper Connelly series and can’t wait to see Syfy‘s television version, you may have to wait.  Harris, who is currently in the middle of her first ever Australian tour, spoke to Bloody-Disgusting.com about the option that Syfy picked up to bring “Grave Sight” to the small screen and she emphasizes that for now it is all still “theoretical”.  Earlier this year fans were excited to hear that Syfy had picked up the option, after an offer from CBS went nowhere, but Harris says that she won’t believe it until she sees it on the screen.

“Grave Sight” is the first novel in the Harper Connelly series, about a woman named Harper who is struck by lightning and can now find dead bodies and relive their last moments.  The series is the second most popular one from Charlaine, with the Southern Vampire Mysteries series being number one.

Don’t expect to see the same crazy, supernatural stuff that we see in HBO‘s True Blood, however.  Harris says that this series will be a lot more realistic and will deal with serial killers and murderers.  She reassures her fans that we shouldn’t take that to mean there won’t be any flashy effects, saying:

“There will be some special effects, but not of the same kind used in True Blood.  This is more crime based.”

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this time the series makes it to our televisions!
