Never let it be said that we don’t know how
to keep Christmas in our hearts here at The Daily Constitutional.
But keeping Christmas in November – and
October for that matter! – is another kettle of Bah Humbug all together.
We blogged about this last year, making the
case for the adoption of Thanksgiving here in the UK on that grounds that the
great North American festival of celebration and family at least keeps the
madness of Christmas at bay until the proper time.
And the proper time is DECEMBER.
And now we just look like a bunch of grumpy
old farts, don’t we.
So, we’ve joined in with the Christmas in November malarkey. And you can, too.
Charity Christmas cards are on sale at
churches up and down London thanks to Card Aid. This afternoon on David’s Kensington
Walk (2pm High Street Kensington station), for example, you can pop into St
Mary Abbots and buy them there…
… or if you join the Behind Closed Doors
walk on Tuesday morning (meets at Covent Garden Station at 10:30a.m) you can
swing by St Paul’s…
Here’s a quick word from Card Aid:
“Our shops offer an unrivalled range of
cards, together with assurance that ALL profits from the cards you are buying
are going to charity.”
