Chargers to add RB Ezekiel Elliott to practice squad for postseason push
The Los Angeles Chargers have signed veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott to their practice squad before the NFL playoffs. Elliott was waived by the Dallas Cowboys, seeking to join a playoff-contending team. The Chargers, led by coach Jim Harbaugh, have been dealing with injuries to their running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Elliott, who played against Harbaugh in college, returns from a stint with the Cowboys where he was primarily a backup. He has playoff experience and will provide depth to the Chargers' backfield as they face the Houston Texans in the wild-card round.
