Zeke signed by Chargers to bolster RB depth for postseason run
The Los Angeles Chargers signed running back Ezekiel Elliott to their practice squad after he was waived by the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the month. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated the move was out of respect for Elliott. In 15 games this season, Elliott had career lows in carries and yards. The Chargers signed Elliott as insurance due to injuries to lead running back Gus Edwards. This move is not expected to significantly impact the workload of lead running back J.K. Dobbins, but could reduce opportunities for backups Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins. Wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. was released to make room for Elliott on the roster.
