I am a proud Scottish lassie, and though I don’t live in the country of my birth anymore I felt immensely proud – not to mention more fashionable than ever – when Chanel gave the home of Highlands its ultimate seal of approval by acquiring Scottish knitwear manufacturer Barrie Knitwear last month.
And if that weren’t enough, Karl Lagerfeld paid tribute to Coco Chanel’s love affair with Scottish tweed and knitwear by hosting the brand’s annual Metiers d’Art show at Linlithgow Palace near Edinburgh.
