Chalk on paper - “My Heart Bleeds Purple…”
So this is quite a personal piece (like all of my art) with a lot of symbologie.
I chose the title as it homes in on the smaller but tougher part of the drawing.
This drawing reflects feelings of being alone, sometimes ostracized by others or society and the welling up of emotions because i leave my heart open on my sleeve. Often it gets bruised and battered and i am overcome with hurt or feelings of being in a big black hole of emotional turmoil.
However I also don’t give two F***s about societies opinion of me. I do my own thing and although I leave my heart open, I will fight to the death to protect my freedom, my individuality and the people/things I care passionately about.
It maybe a bit of a contradiction but I chose to title the drawing “My Heart Bleeds Purple…” because in the end I stop feeling sorry for myself and its my bruised heart & the fighter in me that wins.
