Certain Slant of Light (Part II)

By Krystal

The light trickles in through the window just enough so I can see the outlines of your face and I catch a glimpse of that slow smile. I run my fingers along your face and I can’t think of anything but this moment. I want to take it all in like a photograph that I can look back at forever. I breathe in the scent of your skin, and as I breathe out I kiss the tip of your shoulder. I’m amazed of how we melt close together, as if the curves of my body were strategically placed to fit yours. The light is still soft, like the way you’re trailing your finger up my arm. Time seems to stand still, but I know the moment won’t last forever. I try so desperately to engrave every detail into my mind. I want to remember how peaceful you look as you slowly start to wake and how your lips faintly touch my cheek and follow my jawline to the bottom of my ear.  When you catch me staring into your eyes, you smile ever so softly. Your smile says everything that you can never find the words to say. I want to stay in this moment forever. But as the sun appears, the moment disappears.
