I can’t believe that this month marks the one year anniversary of the day I ventured into that entity called “the blogsphere”. And, wow, what a year it has been! Before I started, I had no concept of how to create a blog. Today HomeSpirations has become a love affair for me. My husband Christopher has told me that he’s never seen me so passionate about working before. I would be remiss if I didn’t say thank you to Christopher—he’s been the best editor I could ever ask for. He has a wonderful ability to take my words and turn them into a coherent presentation.
This has been a year of seeing my confidence grow and getting opportunities that I never dreamed would be in my reach. For example, I was invited to join two blogging groups, and they have given me great tips and ideas for HomeSpirations. They’ve also given me the opportunity to network with equally passionate bloggers who have since become an important part of my life. I greatly enjoy interacting with them on a daily basis. I’ve learned and am still a new vocabulary, widgets, plugs in and, most recently, tribes. It has been a wonderful experience.
Blogging has been a great confidence booster to me. I’ve learned an incredible amount and the experience has really improved my writing. Of course, there have been moments when I’ve had high levels of frustration and stress. There have been times when I felt like deleting the whole blog and forgetting I ever committed myself to this endeavor. There have been days when I couldn’t think of anything to write. And then there have been days when my ideas came to me in the middle of the night, or when I was driving or cooking! I’ve tried to use blog planners but it’s not the tool for me; I can’t think that far ahead. I’m more of a spur-of-the-moment blogger.
As I work on my blog and examine the pictures I’ve compiled, I ask myself, “Does this picture really contribute to the ideas I’m trying to convey?” My husband always tells me that I overthink. I worry too much. I’m not satisfied until I explore all the home decor websites that have relevance to my post.
As I continue my journey as a blogger, I’d like to thank all of you, my readers and subscribers, for reading and sharing this blog. I greatly appreciate all your nice comments. Thanks to you, I now have 11,446 page views of my 156 blog posts from no less than 40 countries! I have 246 Facebook followers and 512 Twitter followers. Needless to say, I’m overwhelmed. Thank you for all your support.
