CD Review: Rick Dangerous & the Silkie Bantams -Thrust Machine
Mr Dangerous and his feathered friends are back with their second EP with seven hard hitting, roking tunes that hold back nothing!

This is hard rock at its finest, from start to finish the band belt out a full on barrage on your ears. This is complemented with an edgy, offbeat character in the vein of Mike Patton or Les Claypool that adds a further layer of depth and interest to the music.

The EP blasted open with the hard hitting title track. The band belt out their own brant of off-beat heavy rock with blistering energy and charisma. 'Fucking Phil' thumps along in a similar fashion with the roaring scratchy guitars pairing with the harsh chanting lyrics to produce a massive assault of sound! 'Bruja' is a hard hitting heavy alt-rock tune sounding somewhere between Primus and Cop Shoot Cop. The background chanting mixed with the powerful outbursts make for one electrifying experience! 'Red' is a no nonsense hard core anthem that flies along with great urgency!

'There I go' is a powerful rock and roll anthem, holding back on the heavy assaulting sounds (in relative terms anyway) the band allow the rocking cheesiness to shine through producing a cool sound with no shortage of charm and pizzazz. The EP ends with the smooth and funky sounds of 'The Pinch'. Sharp and thumping with elements of blues, jazz, and ska all finding their way somewhere, the track ensures the EP finished with a massive and epic bang!

This is exactly how rock should sound like! Not only is the EP packed, nay crammed with blustering hard hitting energy, the music is delivered with great character and charisma that shows the band know how to have fun while rocking out!
