This double A-side from Night Dials shows off their love of the 60s, delivered with their own special twist. The songs were apparently recoded in Liam Watson’s Toe Rag Studios, decked out with pre-1969 equipment. This has put the 60s stamp on the music with the sound and feel of the music acting as a kind of taking you back to those times. There is no over production or fine tuning here, rather they are gong for the rough andready look and pull it off brialiantly.

‘I’ve done more things’ has a vintage 60s pop rock sound. There is a scratchy sound to it emulating the old recording sound. The music has that interesting contrast of up beat catchy tunes against the bitter “I’m better than my ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend”!

‘I’ll sleep when I die’ continues in the same vein with a subtle surfy vibe mixed in to sound a little like the Beach Boys. There are some interesting psychedelic sounds explored while the song has an echoing feel.

This is quite a nice single with two great tunes full of character and charm!
