The Cultural Center of the Philippines, in cooperation with the US Embassy of Manila, is organizing the Management Intensives for Arts Managers and Board Members seminar on May 25-26 at the CCP Little Theater.
Board members, Executive directors, chief executive officers, artistic directors, and heads of arts and cultural Institutions, as well as arts managers and business sector advocates, are invited to attend this event.
Karen Hopkins, President of the Brooklyn Academy of Music from New York, will be the guest resource speaker. Hopkins has been with BAM since 1979 and was responsible for presenting cutting edge performances and breakthroughs largely supported by donations from individuals and corporations.
The conference includes intensive sessions on arts management:
“Building Healthy and Helpful Arts Boards” focuses on how arts boards can help in maintaining a strong and healthy arts organization, and “Fundraising for the Arts” focuses on the rigors and rewards of long-term fundraising strategies for the sustainability of the arts.
There will also be a talk on “Intellectual Property Rights for Theater” by Ronald Feiner, a Board Member of BAM, and “Government Sponsored Art vs. Private Sector Sponsored Art : A Delicate Balance” by Alan Holst, Cultural Affairs Officer-Embassy of The United States of America.
