Posted on the 14 December 2023 by Shoumya Chowdhury

Renowned investor Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest, has recently made a bold prediction that has caught the attention of the cryptocurrency market. Wood’s optimistic stance on Bitcoin, backed by her team’s Bitcoin valuation model, suggests a staggering 3,400% surge in its price by 2030.

As Bitcoin continues to dominate the cryptocurrency landscape, accounting for over 50% of its total value, Wood’s projection holds significant weight. The valuation model outlines three scenarios for Bitcoin’s future price, with the most ambitious estimation reaching a staggering $1.48 million per coin.

Wood firmly believes in the disruptive potential of Bitcoin and its ability to shape the future of finance. However, the question remains whether the demand for Bitcoin will indeed intensify as Wood predicts, or if it will subside in the years to come.

Cathie Wood’s Bullish Outlook

Cathie Wood, the boss of a company called Ark Invest, is really positive about the future of digital money like Bitcoin. She thinks Bitcoin could change the way we use money and could be very valuable in the future.

Ark Invest made a report that guesses Bitcoin’s price could go up to $1.48 million for each Bitcoin by the year 2030. That’s a huge jump, over 30 times more than what it’s worth now!

Wood and her team at Ark Invest say that more people and companies will want Bitcoin because there’s only a limited amount of it and it’s becoming more popular. They think places like big money management firms, countries with less stable money, people looking for something other than gold to invest in, and rich people will all want to buy Bitcoin.

Bitcoin’s Potential Upside

Bitcoin might grow a lot in value in the next ten years. Ark Invest, a company that studies investments, has made some guesses about Bitcoin’s price by 2030. They think in the worst case, Bitcoin could be worth $258,500. In a more regular case, it might reach $682,800. But in the best case, where things go really well, Bitcoin’s price could hit $1.48 million for each coin. These guesses mean Bitcoin could be worth up to 34 times more than it is now.

Ark Invest says Bitcoin could change the way we handle money in the future. They see different ways that people and companies might want more Bitcoin. For example, big companies, people in countries with less stable money, people looking for something other than gold, and very rich people might all want to buy Bitcoin. Since there’s only a certain amount of Bitcoin and more people are interested in it, its price could really go up.

Ark Invest’s Bitcoin Valuation Model

Ark Invest created a Bitcoin valuation model that looks at how much Bitcoin could be worth in 2030. Their study shows three different price possibilities. If things don’t go so well for Bitcoin, Ark Invest’s ‘bear case’ predicts Bitcoin could be worth $258,500. In their ‘base case,’ which is like a middle-ground prediction, they think Bitcoin could reach $682,800. But if things go really well, their ‘bull case’ suggests Bitcoin could soar to $1.48 million.

Ark Invest is really positive about where Bitcoin is headed. They thought about many reasons that could make Bitcoin’s value go up. Things like companies wanting to keep Bitcoin instead of cash, people sending money to family in other countries, governments starting to hold Bitcoin, folks in places with unstable money using Bitcoin, using Bitcoin for big business deals, rich people investing in Bitcoin, more big investors putting money into Bitcoin, and people seeing Bitcoin as a new kind of gold.

They say the biggest chances for Bitcoin’s price to go up are with big investors, countries with shaky money, new kinds of gold, and rich folks’ investments.

This model that Ark Invest made helps us see what could happen to Bitcoin’s value in the future. It shows that Ark Invest really believes Bitcoin will do well in the long run.
