About five days ago, Julian Castro dropped out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. His campaign was just unable to get enough support or donations to be competitive in the race.
But Castro is still making his wishes known. He is supporting and endorsing Elizabeth Warren for the nomination.
Here's is what he said:
"There's one candidate I see who's unafraid to fight like hell to make sure America's promise will be there for everyone. Who will make sure that no matter where you live in America or where your family came from in the world, you have a path to opportunity too. That's why I'm proud to endorse Elizabeth Warren for president."
And here is what Warren had to say about Castro's endorsement:
"Julián Castro is a powerfully important voice for our country.
As a presidential candidate, he proposed bold and progressive policies — including reforming our immigration laws, fixing our broken criminal justice system, improving access to child care, and protecting the rights and equality of people with disabilities.
He’s made the Democratic primary more substantive, and his vision was always clear: Lift up the voices of the people who are struggling the most, and fight for deep, systemic reform.
I’m deeply grateful to receive his endorsement today. It is an honor to fight side by side with Julián Castro for the big, structural change we need."
