Charles DuBose, 55, is accused of the heinous act of shooting Ivhan`e Merritt, 11, for the offense of playing on his front lawn in Cleveland at 10:40 p.m.
Witnesses said DuBose was upset with the children and then fired after one child walked across his lawn and another bumped his car.
The so-called Castle Doctrine laws would never justify something like this. But what contributes to these incidents is the attitude that property and privacy are more important than human life. These are the very attitudes that are bolstered by the Castle Doctrine Mentality, which guys like Du Bose cannot distinguise from the letter of the law.
Let's count this one as another success of the gun-rights movement in Ohio.
