Check out the best characters in the game, through our own Castle Crashers tier list!

Castle Crashers Tier List

We ranked Castle Breaker characters based on their magical attacks and their overall versatility in passing levels in the campaign’s Insane mode.

The best characters in Castle Crashers are Tier S, while the weakest characters are Tier D. So let’s start with the best.

Castle Crashers Tier List – Tier S (Best Characters)

These are the best knights, regardless of their starting weapons, outperforming all other characters in the Insane mode:

  • Blue Knight
  • Industrialist
  • Red Knight
  • Iceskimo
  • Fencer

Castle Crashers Tier List – Tier A (Good Characters)

These are still very good characters, and you can easily get through a lot of levels, both solo and co-op.

  • Bear
  • Brute
  • Fire Demon
  • Orange Knight
  • Pink Knight
  • Snakey

CC Tier List – Tier B (Average Characters)

  • Alien
  • Conehead
  • Cult Minion
  • Gray Knight
  • Necromancer
  • Ninja
  • Royal Guard
  • Saracen
  • Skeleton

CC Tier List – Tier C (Below Average Characters)

Slightly below average characters, these knights aren’t great and really shouldn’t be used unless you like their feats and magic attacks. In that case, yes, go play.

  • Barbarian
  • Blacksmith
  • Civilian
  • Killer Beekeeper
  • King
  • Open Faced Gray Knight
  • Peasant
  • Stove Face
  • Thief

Tier D (Weakest Characters)

In our personal opinion, we think these are the weakest characters in the game right now. You should only use these if you don’t unlock better ones from higher levels.

  • Green Knight
  • Hatty Hattington

Final conclusions

This Castle Crashers ranking is designed to give beginners some information on which character is best for their playstyle.

Rankings are not accurate, they are intended to give you an idea of what we or the Castle Crashers community think of a particular character. All in all, rankings are just a guide, you can try out each character (or all characters) and learn their magical attacks, choosing the one you like best and suit your playstyle.
