Barry Levinson’s next, Rock The Kasbah, is packing quite a cast. Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Danny McBride, and Shia LaBeouf (who apparently has unquit being famous) have joined the project. Production begins in June.
Also, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons have been added to the cast of the new Batman/Superman movie. Eisenberg is set to play iconic villain Lex Luthor, a role rumored to be going to Bryan Cranston, and Jeremy Irons will play Alfred. I was really rooting for Cranston. I don’t think Eisenberg is right for Luthor.
Also, Zachary Quinto has boarded Agent 47, the sequel to the film Hitman. He replaces Paul Walker, who was originally cast in the lead role until he passed away last year.
Finally, Liam Neeson is starring in Martin Scorsese’s next film Silence. Based on the true story of 17th century Jesuits who to try bring Christianity to isolated Japan, the film will shoot later this year. The question is, will Neeson be able to shoot Taken 3 before Silence, or will Taken 3 have to wait even longer?
