The case filed against Mrs. World Caroline Jurie and model Chula Padmendra for allegedly snatching the crown from Pushpika de Silva, the winner of the Mrs. Sri Lanka beauty pageant 2020 at the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant, was fixed for trial by Colombo Chief Magistrate Nandana Amarasinghe yesterday.

The two suspects Caroline Jurie and Chula Padmendra are currently out on bail over this incident which took place at the Mrs. Sri Lanka pageant on April 4, 2021.

The Cinnamon Gardens Police conducting investigations into the incident had filed a ‘B’ report naming Caroline Jurie and Chula Padmendra as suspects.

On a previous occasion, the Additional Magistrate had referred them to the Mediation Board. However, the Cinnamon Gardens Police   informed the Magistrate that the parties have not arrived at a settlement. Accordingly, the Magistrate fixed the trial for May 30.
