While she wouldn’t say which firm Elsbeth is helping, Preston did say why she returns:

“We just shot episode 4, and she’s representing the firm.”

With the Emmy win though, Carrie admitted that she felt like she cheated on True Blood a little bit. But she isn’t too sorry about it:

“I feel like I’m cheating on ‘True Blood.  And it’s worth it.”

Of her legal alter-ego Preston says that she’s a good lawyer because she pays attention to every thought she has.

“She’s very mercurial. She is as equally surprised by one thought as the next and she gives each of them equal attention, that what makes her such a good lawyer.”

As for her freshly won Emmy, Preston’s will now join the row next to husband Michael Emerson’s. But winning one for the show doesn’t mean Carrie let the fact True Blood is shut out of the nominations every year slip by. The Good Wife is however the only broadcast show that does, which she is thrilled by.

“‘True Blood’ gets no Emmy love. And yet ‘The Good Wife’ is the only broadcast show that does. I’m so thrilled to be a part of it, and this, this feels good”
