Its hard to believe that Season 5 of HBO‘s True Blood is just about at its end but sadly its that time of year. Alan Ball, Sam Trammell and others have dropped hints that the finale will be crazy and that a lot of people are going to die. This time it was Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler) who during an interview with Speakeasy, echoed that sentiment. Preston was in New York having lunch with Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton) and plans to watch the finale Sunday with her husband and sister. Like all of the True Blood cast and crew, Preston would not reveal much information about the finale but she did say the following:
“At every table read we do, whenever we say goodbye to a character or a character dies, everyone gives a round of applause. Let’s just say there were more than a few rounds of applause for this one. We clapped a lot at the table read.”
Speculation is running rampant as to who dies, how the story wraps up and what exactly the writers have in store but Preston reminds us that the writers have to prepare for Season 6 so we may not have the stories tied up neatly like we want to, saying:
“You might be picturing the finale a little differently. The writers on our show are extremely smart and they know we have a season 6 coming up. They really know how to leave you hanging and open up a lot of potential story lines for another season. Don’t worry, they’re not going to spend all their ideas on the finale. They always surprise us every year.”
They surprise us fans as well with what they come up with. Preston goes on to say that she isn’t sure what will happen with Terry and Arlene now that the smoke monster storyline has wrapped up. She says that both her and Todd Lowe, who plays Terry Bellefleur, are curious as to where they will go from here.
We may have to wait nine long months to see more of Arlene but Preston will be busy the next few months. Her movie ‘That’s What She Said’ starring Anne Heche will hit theaters October 19th and you can check out the trailer for it below. She will also debut a pilot for a web series at the New York Television Festival in October.
So Truebies what are your predictions for Sunday’s episode – who do you think was clapped for at the table read?
