'Carrie' Cometh Soon

'Carrie' Cometh SoonStephen King's first ever published novel, 'Carrie ', has had several adaptations to date: a 1976 feature which spawned a sequel in 1999, an unrelated 2002 feature television movie, a 1988 Broadway musical, and another theatrical production to be staged soon. Even with all those adaptations already out there, Hollywood is back for more with another re-imagining of the classic novel. This newest offering is again another film and it's to be released on October 18th of this year, just in time for Halloween. The flick is actually delayed from it's original release day, but not to put it closer to the scary holiday season, but instead because they wanted to further develop the movie, supposedly to make it scarier.
For those who don't know what the story entails, IMDB has a synopsis telling us that it's "about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom." Sounds neat, eh?
This upcoming dramatic horror sci-fi flick stars Chloë Grace Moretz in the title role, with Julianne Moore as her mother. From the trailer - posted below - it looks promising. There's no doubt that I'll be checking it out, and if at all possible, I'll be watching it in IMAX - considering this is the first adaptation of a Stephen King novel to ever be released in that format, and all. Hopefully my local cinema has it available in that format, but if not, I'll be just as happy watching the good old fashioned way.
