Spectral Nights favourites Carnival Youth have unveiled new single ‘Love is the Answer’. Following the albums ‘No Clouds Allowed’ and ‘Propeller’, it finds the Latvian indie-pop trio in scintillating form and has a bombastic tone throughout. Sounding somewhat akin to the love child of Grandaddy and Future Islands, it seems tailor-made for festivals and like all good unlucky-in-love songs, it has an irresitibly wistful tone in is addictive chorus: ‘You said what you meant. It sounded so bold. Love is the answer, it’s time to let go. Our footprints are fading into snow’. There’s also some much-welcome brass thrown into the mix.
