So, I really loved most of the Carnival Row TV series on Amazon until the final episode which I really hated and put me off watching Season 2. However, Vignette and Tourmaline are two of my favourite characters and their romantic past is hinted at in the show. So of course, I had to listen to this. Tangle in the Dark is a stand-alone story and you don't need to have even heard of the TV show to enjoy it. The final sections touch on the events of the show with Vignette meeting Philo and Tourmaline telling him to fake his death in order to spare Vignette. This is well written, engaging tale.
