Carly Didn’t Fail To Secure CarlyFiorina.org; She Let It Drop

Posted on the 05 May 2015 by Worldwide @thedomains

There has been a fair amount of press that the new GOP candidate and former CEO of HP,  Carly Fiorina “failed to secure” her matching name with the .org domain name CarlyFiorina.org but here are the facts!

Carly DID own the domain name CarlyFiorina.org

Carly Fiorina Enterprises (which she is CEO and Chair of) according to Wikipedia owned the domain name since at least March 3, 2008 according to whois history records.

The domain was actually registered on June 23, 2006 and whois history records showed a “John Slafsky” as the registrant of the domain, who is a lawyer.

Carly Fiorina Enterprises owned the domain name according to whois history records from  March 3, 2008 until June 23, 2014 when the domain reached expiry date and renewal was not paid.

At the time of the expiration of the domain name, whois records indicated an “invalid” registrant email address, which isn’t overly uncommon for a domain name that has been owned by somebody for sometime, as email address change and so on and can lead to a missed renewal notice.

The domain name followed the expire process and was released by the .org registry (PIR) and was registered at domain registrar Tucows under privacy protection on December 19, 2014 and is still owned by the same owner today.

So in the end, CarlyFiorina.org was owned by her and let it drop!

For the record Carly does own CarlyFiorina.com, which redirects to the official campaign URL: CarlyForPresident.com
