Flies are a nuisance, no matter what you do they seem to keep buzzing around your head. Of course, they’re never slow enough for you to catch them.

But, they’re more than just a nuisance, flies actually carry a number of diseases, some of which are fatal. That’s why you need to act today if you think you have a fly problem.

Having the odd fly in your home may not seem like a fly issue. But, the odd fly will often mean there is a colony nearby, potentially within your home. Consider the fact that flies will lay approximately 6 batches of eggs in their lifetime, and that each batch contains between 75 and 150 eggs. You can quickly see how one fly can become an infestation.

You need to deal with the issue quickly.

Does Pest Control Work?

Can Pest Control Get Rid of Flies?

The short answer is yes.

A pest control expert can come into your home and locate the source of your fly issue. They can then use a variety of chemicals to ensure the flies, eggs, and larvae are all destroyed.

This will eliminate the current problem you have with flies. However, this doesn’t stop another fly coming in and starting the process all over again.

If you have a fly problem you need the experts to get rid of them. But, you also need t start taking preventative steps.

Screening Your House

Flies come through open doors and windows, which you probably like to have open in the warmer months. The best way to stop this happening is to get fly screens and put them across all your windows. These won’t stop the light or the air coming in but the mesh is too small to allow most flies through.

You’ll need a mesh curtain or some similar structure to cover your doors.

Seal the Gaps

As well as blocking the obvious and largest entry points, you’ll need to visually inspect your home. Small gaps around windows and doors are common, but they also mean that flies and other pests can pay you a visit.

It’s important to inspect the outside of your home regularly and then seal up any gaps, preventing the flies from getting access.

Electronic Killers

Despite your best efforts, the odd fly can still get in, especially if you bring it with you when going through the door. However, these don’t need to be a problem f you use a led fly control device.

This attracts the flies to it and then electrocutes them. You’ll need to have it high enough that children can’t play with it, although it does have a protective screen.

The Natural Approach

To supplement this it’s a good idea to look at natural deterrents. Filling a jar with apple cider vinegar and putting a funnel on top will ensure flies are attracted to the liquid but then can’t get out.

You can also use flypaper or even hang ribbon with a few drops of eucalyptus oil, this will keep the flies away.
