Ayurveda Commissioner General Dr. Dhammika Abeygunawardena stated yesterday that a regulation that females should massage females and males should massage males was not a new one but one which had existed for a long time and it is something which is mentioned in medical ethics.
He also said that the hastily set up massage parlours that spring up at various locations around the country should be regulated.
He stated that there is a law regarding massage parlours and there was no need to come up with new laws.
He also said that the existing law related to proper running of massage parlours will be implemented.
