Calcium Carbonate In Plant Milk

Posted on the 31 October 2021 by Latoya @latoyallawrence

I was never one to take calcium supplements. Sometimes calcium is added into our foods with other fortified vitamins.

I knew for years that too much calcium intake can be dangerous, especially to the arteries and heart due to calcium buildup and deposits.

Dietary calcium is safer and more absorbable because it comes from a whole food source.

I know there are other clean oatmilks out there without emulsifiers and additives like Elmhurst with just whole grain oats, filtered water and salt, yet I did not waste money on a purchase I may have been disappointed with. From what I’ve heard the Elmhurst oatmilk is watery and tasteless.

I don’t always listen to what others say as all of our taste buds and preferences differ but sometimes people and their reviews are helpful on whether or not to make a decision in the selection of items.

What I did every time I drank a cup of the Planet Oat was mix scoops of pure OptiMSM flakes into the milk.

MSM breaks up calcium deposits and clears the arteries, or helps to reverse atherosclerosis.

I don’t have any of these specific health issues and I do not want to contribute to developing any if I can help it.

On Friday, I found two shelf-stable plain unsweetened Westsoy Soymilk containers left upon the shelf at Whole Foods.

This particular soymilk sells out pretty quick there. I’m so glad I caught them before someone else picked them up.

There wasn’t any there last week when I checked.

If there comes a time again when I get in the mood for my favorite clean soymilk and there are none available at the local stores that carry them, I won’t settle for Planet Oat Original oatmilk anymore.

As I mentioned once before, I liked the color, the consistency, and the taste of the oatmilk, but I don’t like the fact that it contained calcium carbonate.
