Cafe Review: Dandelion Cafe, Newlands Park, Glasgow

Newlands Park, Southside Glasgow, Dandelion cafe

We grabbed the last seats outside to make the most of the sun. It was sunny and a public holiday hence a very busy cafe.

As a result we had a 40 min wait for food to arrive, well, actually that's not true, the slice of cake we asked for came out within seconds but we didn't touch it till our mains came.

Soup and half sandwich deal - the half sandwich turned out to be half a bagel, which appeared to be pastrami in the bagel not salt beef, which is very similar but not identical. It was pretty tasty nonetheless.

The croissant with bacon and cheesy scrambled eggs was surprisingly filling. Good cheesy eggs, creamy and almost as good as mine at home ;-). Two slices of tasty bacon on top of a croissant. Yummy!

Good flat white made with Dear Grern coffee. Smooth and creamy and no need for sugar with a delicious buttery heart shaped shortbread on the side.

Lemon sponge - lemon curd, buttercream filling and topped with icing. Gorgeous home made cake with lots of flavour. Perfect with our coffees.

The staff are quick with friendly service however it seems that the kitchen is struggling with its success, making delivery of orders a bit slow. Persevere and get a good coffee, tasty brunch or sandwich and some delicious cake.

This wee cafe is well worth a visit.

Gluten free cakes are also available.

Total cost was £20.45

+doggy bowls and dog friendly

- very busy so expect to wait
