Cadbury Delivers Truckful of Festive Joy

Cadbury has delivered its first truckful of festive joy, unveiling a one of kind Christmas grotto - made entirely out of chocolate - hidden behind the first door of its real-life24-day advent calendar. The classic Christmas scene was given a mouth-watering makeover to mark the first day of advent, with 23 more trucks set to follow suit, travelling across the UK throughout December as part of the most delicious countdown to Christmas.

The magical display took a team of expert food artists more than 200 hours to complete the spectacular look. An array of Cadbury festive favourites came together to form the special interpretation of Santa's workshop, with over 2500 delicious Cadbury bars adorning the grotto. The scene is set with walls clad with 1250 bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Edition, a rug made from 6150 edible individual Cadbury Roses and even a chocolate fireplace with Cadbury Crunchie bars and Cadbury Double Deckers masquerading as glowing coals and ashes.

Wall to wall chocolate lined the wonderland with chocolate Christmas trees complete with edible baubles and presents, a Santa's Table and Chair made from Cadbury Wispa and over a hundred of the Cadbury Advent Calendars that no grotto should be without!

Even our favourite frog couldn't resist leaping into the festive fun, and a giant Cadbury Freddo head painting could be seen displayed alongside other Cadbury Christmas favourites. The Cadbury Chocolate Grotto wowed passers-by in Liverpool for one day only as they stopped in awe to take in the delicious display.

Claire Low, Marketing Manager at Mondelèz International, said: "Santa's Grotto is synonymous with the feeling of Christmas so we felt this was the perfect way to kick off our festive countdown. We wanted to create something that captured the excitement felt when opening the first door of your advent calendar, and the Cadbury Chocolate Grotto merges the wonderful themes of Santa and chocolate. We loved seeing everyone enjoy the one-of-a kind creation and can't wait to unleash even more joy when we open our next door tomorrow!"

The chocolate grotto brings to life the latest Cadbury Christmas TV advert, which shows the most joyful advent calendar formed from 24 Cadbury purple trucks ready to deliver joy across the nation. Every truck represents a different door of the advent calendar, and the Cadbury Chocolate Grotto is just the first of many unique surprises. So keep your eyes peeled for the next joyful treat in case a magical truck comes to a town near you!
