Buzz, Club Road, Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi

By Rohit Dassani

Buzz is a great addition to Delhi’s cosmopolitan culture. The place is located on the Club Road in West Punjabi Bagh. They occupy 2 floor and the top one has a open sky themed restaurant and club lounge. The ambiance is amazing with retro effects and music that would just blow your mind. They even invite a number of DJ’s to play here including some of their in-house ones. Buzz has almost 3 outlets now with one in Saket as well as one in Gurgaon, whereas a few more are coming up soon.

The bar is very attractive and looks amazing with the red and yellow colored lights. The seating arrangement is so unique that the whole place can be converted into a dance floor in minutes. The place is known for its extensive drinks menu and some of the food items are breathtakingly tasty.

We started off with the order of a Coco Freeze Nectar and a Red Berry Daiquiri. The Coco Freeze Nectar is a blend of Pineapple, Orange and Coconut milk. The drink is so damn refreshing and the taste is outstanding. A must have to get yourself going! The Red Daiquiri, a blend of berries and orange is served almost frozen, great drink.

We ordered a Tandoori platter to go with our drinks as suggested by the head chef himself. The platter was a combo of Tandoori Mushroom, Malai Broccoli, Panner Tikka, Bharwa Tandoori Aloo and Grilled Pineapple, served with green chutney and onion. The Tandoori Mushroom were so tender that they just melted in the mouth. The taste was heaven. Superb preparation! The Grilled Pineapple and Malai Broccoli were outstanding. The Bharwa Tandoori Aloo was prepared with an outer coating of sesame seeds and the potato filled with dry fruits, was so so.

Next came in the Honey Chili Mustard Potato Wedges. Well I have never tasted such a delicious preparation of Honey Chili Potato ever. The chef’s fusion of Mustard in this dish made all the difference. The dish would not have completed with a gentle sprinkle of spring onions. The use of chili was remarkable not too hot, not too little, just perfect.

The chef recommended the Kung Pao Mushroom. The taste was out of this world. Amazing, amazing and amazing! The Mushrooms were fried to perfection so that they are crisp from the top and soft from inside. The peanuts on the top was just icing on the cake. If you’re at Buzz don’t miss this, 10 out of 10 for this one.

We then went for another round of drinks this time with a Pina Colada and Sex on the Beach. The Pina Colada is one of my favorites and the bartender didn’t go wrong. The Sex on the Beach was again superb. Buzz truly proved to be a one stop for some amazing drinks.

For main course we had the Panner Lababdar with Lachha Paratha. The dishes is also served with a masala roasted papad, Dal Makhani and raita. A complete dish in itself. The Lachha Paratha was soft with a generous amount of butter on top and the Panner Lababdar was rich and delicious. We also tried the Thai Red Penang Curry with Steamed Rice. The red curry was fresh and consisted for many exotic veggies. The curry went really well with the steamed rice and raw papaya salad.

Though we didn’t have any room for Dessert after all this. But a meal is never completed with a sweet ending. We ordered a Gooey Walnut Brownie with Vanilla Ice-cream. The Brownie were huge chunk of warm chocolaty goodness. The creamy ice-cream was made in-house. The combo never seizes to amaze me. Yummy!!
