Bumpdate: 12 Weeks

By Thesamanthashow

Happy Friday babes! Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the beautiful snow (if you have any) from the indoors. I’ve been desperately researching warm destination vacations because I AIN’T DOING THIS. It’s so cold. And being in the south for three years just spoiled me like no other. I need the warm sun on my face ASAP.

Nothing crazy from the bump this week. It’s starting to poke out a little but nothing significant yet. I also went to the gym (once) this week but hey, that’s more than I’ve been the past few months. I had a lot of errands and appointments this week so I’m hoping to make it at least 3 times next week!

So here we go… Bumpdate: 12 weeks!

How far along: 12 weeks + 4 days

Size of baby: Plum

Baby’s size and weight: 2.09 inches + 0.49 ounces

My total weight gain: 7 lbs

Baby’s development:

Most critical organs fully developed.

Organs and tissues growing rapidly.

Developing reflexes; if you poke his or her body, you’ll see movement (that’s crazy to me!)

Stretch marks: None.

Maternity clothes: I just bought these maternity jeans and these jeans because I was getting sick of wearing leggings. I love that they just have the little stretchy insert instead of that super uncomfortable band that touches all the way up to your boobs. I will say, I was a size 2-4 pre-pregnancy and so I purchased size 2 and 4 in these babies. Even the 2s are falling off of me. Because of the extra stretch, they run a little big (in my opinion). So take that into consideration when ordering!

Gender: Not at liberty to say. However, we did decide we won’t be keeping it a secret. We’re going to wait to confirm at our ultrasound on March 6th, tell the kids and family, and then announce!

Movement: I wasn’t sure but I thought I felt something the other day when I was laying down. But I think it’s too early so it was probably just gas bubbles haha

Sleep: I’m not waking up AS much to go to the bathroom, so that’s amazing. I’ve also been taking Unisom nightly so I can try to get more sleep.

What I miss: this doesn’t have anything to do with my pregnancy but I’ve been really missing Georgia lately. The winter is always so depressing here and it doesn’t help that I miss the south so much. I never thought that I would say that but for some reason I really do. I think I also miss the excitement of knowing we’re moving sometime in the near future. We’ll be in Cleveland for as long as we decide, probably until the kids graduate high school. So I’m kind of like “this is it?”

Food cravings: Nothing crazy.

Symptoms: Exhaustion, bloated, stomach cramps.

The siblings are: driving me crazy! We’ve had so many damn snow days and been spending WAY too much time together. It’s also been too cold to even let them go outside and play so we all have cabin fever.

High of the week: We got an unexpected ultrasound at my appointment last week and the kids got to see the baby moving and jumping around in there. Miss P is getting so excited that my belly is growing and she can’t wait to get her hands on this baby. Oh and I had a facial yesterday and it was GLORIOUS.

Low of the week: How freaking cold it is. Can I just go on a tropical vacation? Is that too much to ask?

In case you’re interested, I shared some first trimester must haves this past week too. You can check them out here.

I’ve been working on moving everything downstairs from my closet room and slowly but surely turning that room into a nursery. I may or may not have purchased some items for the nursery… but they’re not gender neutral so I’m just going to have to wait to show y’all

🙂
I’m mean… I know!

Have a great weekend! xo
