BSNL has started rolling out 4G network service. Union IT and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Wednesday said that BSNL has started rolling out 4G network with 200 sites and after three months of testing it will be launched for an average of 200 sites per day. According to the minister, BSNL 4G network will be upgraded to 5G by November-December. Let’s read below for more details.
BSNL rolling out 4G network
According to a recent report by Gadgets 360, Vaishnav says that the 4G-5G telecom stack has been developed in India. Stack development started with BSNL. 200 sites have been set up between Chandigarh and Dehradun and will go live in next two weeks at the most.
For your information, let us tell you that BSNL has given an advance purchase order of more than Rs 19,000 crore to Tata Consultancy Services and ITI Limited for the development of 4G network with more than 1.23 lakh sites.
200 sites will be live in a day
Vaishnav says that you will be surprised to see the speed at which BSNL will develop. After testing for three months, they will do 200 sites a day. This is the average on which they will move. BSNL’s network will initially work like 4G. Very soon around November-December it will become 5G with a very small software adjustment.
5G site went live in Chardham
Today practically one 5G site is being activated every minute. The world is shocked. Vaishnav said that it is a matter of pride for him that the 2,00,000th 5G site has been installed in Chardham.

He said that the Prime Minister says that India will stand with the world in 5G and will play an important role in 6G. He also said that gone are the days when transfer of technology was signed.
Let us tell you that the first 1 lakh 5G sites were started within 5 months after the Prime Minister started the service on 1 October. Next 1 lakh sites have been rolled out in three months.
