Beth Shalom Records signing Bryony Williams has shared ‘Dive’ ahead of the re;ease of new EP ‘State I’m In’ on 30 October.
Written after a three-month backpacking world adventure, the song is described by Bryony as her ‘most delicate piece of work to date’ as she talks about making the difficult decision to be a better person: ‘Dive in the deep end and learn to swim. It’s hard to know when to give in. As it snows, I’ll be outside waiting fully clothed. Now I’m completely naked’. The sparse piano-driven song flits between the poignant beauty of Julien Baker (the slide guitar played by Matt Allwright is majestic) and the atmospheric stylings of latter-day Glass Animals.
The EP, ‘State I’m In’, will be released via Beth Shalom Records on October 30th on Limited Edition Coloured Vinyl, which will be accompanied by Bryony’s critically acclaimed 2018 EP, ‘Conscious’.
