Deniyaya Police said that an applicant’s brother, who was appearing for the General Certificate of Education (OL) Examination, was arrested for impersonating the candidate.
The candidate’s brother had appeared for the Sinhala language subject for his brother at the Deniyaya Pallegama Maha Vidyalaya Examination Center Hall No.2 held on June 8. The applicant is residing in Ensalwatta.
The person who appeared for his brother was arrested on suspicion after the invigilating officer complained to the Deniyaya police station regarding the person who appeared for the exam on behalf of someone else.The suspect who was arrested by the police is scheduled to be presented to the Morawaka Magistrate’s Court yesterday (9).
