But if your baby has just started weaning, here’s a way you can avoid this situation later on – get them used to the taste now! And we’ve got just the way you can do it, with a Broccoli Spinach Puree for Babies!
Broccoli helps to strengthen kids’ immune system, develops good eyesight and prevents anemia. Spinach is good for the eyes and is rich in many antioxidants. Broccoli may cause flatulence and discomfort due to gas, due to which it is not recommended for babies below 8 months. Spinach, which can contain oxalates and nitrates, both of which are not suitable for babies under the age of 8 months. So in short, this recipe is ideal for babies over 8 months. When buying, choose bright green vegetables without any sign of decay. If you can, get organic varieties to keep your baby safe from chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Broccoli Spinach Puree for Babies
Ingredients:
- Chopped Carrot – 1 cup
- Broccoli Florets – 1 cup
- Chopped Spinach Leaves – 1 cup
Instructions:
1. Fill a pan with water.
2. Take all the ingredients in a bowl and place it in the pan. Make sure the water doesn’t enter the vegetables.
3. Put the pan on the stove and close the lid.
4. Steam the vegetables till they are completely cooked and soft.
5. Let the cooked vegetables cool a little. Grind them to a puree.
6. Add a little cumin/jeera powder for taste. You can also add breast milk or formula to think it out.
