The British Aerospace 146 is a short-haul and regional airliner that was manufactured in the United Kingdom by British Aerospace. First flown in 1981, production ran from 1983-2001. Avro International Aerospace manufactured an improved version known as the Avro RJ from 1993-2003. This air tanker conversion uses a computer-controlled system that allows the flight crew to select custom flow rate combinations to deliver 3,100 gallons of retardant, foam, or water. Based in Spokane, WA, Aero-Flight is an aerial firefighting company providing services and support throughout the United States and Australia.
