This unit has 2 separate control settings, allowing you to select two different cook settings for each set of toast.
When you press the Toast/Cancel button, the toast will lower itself into the toaster, beginning the toasting process. The button eliminates the need to press down a lever that you find with other toasters. Everything with this toaster is controlled by pressing a button. When the toasting process has finished, press the Toast/Cancel button again and the toast will come back up.

Other useful functions of this toaster are the Lift-and-Look setting and A Bit More setting. The Lift-and-Look feature will allow you to check on your toast in the middle of the toasting process, without actually cancelling the process.
Once you press the button, the tray will rise, allowing you to check on the toast. Then, it will lower itself back down so it can complete the cycle. The A Bit More feature will tack on an additional 30 seconds to the toasting process, making your toast a bit darker than the original setting.
On top of all these great features, the toaster features an LED process bar at the bottom. You can slide the browning control and the progress bar will line up with your desired setting. The timer will start counting down when the toasting process begins.
When the process is complete, the tray will automatically rise to the top and the unit will beep, letting you know breakfast is ready.

If you want the toast a smidge darker, you can press the A Bit More button, which will toast it for an additional 30 seconds.
We are particularly fond of this toaster because it really is a smart toaster. This toaster allows you to fiddle with the temperature settings until you find the setting that will give you the desired darkness you like for your toast.
The independent controls also makes it possible to toast two sets of toast at different levels of darkness. So if someone likes dark toast and another likes mild toast, you can do that without worry!
What we like the most about this toaster is that even if you have it set for really dark toast, which requires high heat for longer periods of time, you never have to worry about the outside getting hot it stays cool to the touch regardless of temperature. For parents, accidental burns is a big concern with young children around.
